First of all, there are a few ground rules you should take into account when you begin writing your resume’s work experience section.
Keep this in mind: each job posting you see is, essentially, a company describing a problem they have. Your resume’s job is to explain how you’ll solve that problem. Read the job description carefully to determine what the “problem” is. For example, if you see a position for a real estate agent that specifically requests experience dealing with complex purchases, you can probably safely assume that the office is currently handling many complex purchases. If the “problem” in the job description this resume is applying for is a lack of experienced sellers’ agents, this resume would be the perfect fit.

Why it works: While this applicant doesn’t have as many years of experience as the one previously, they still do an excellent job of demonstrating their worth to a company. Not only are they using concrete numbers, such as “25 transactions per year,” they’re also demonstrating their initiative. Being in charge of a campaign like the one described above is a great way to show employers that you’ll go above and beyond.

Why it works: This applicant has even less experience than the one before – but that doesn’t mean they can’t still perfectly explain how they’d fit in at a new position! This real estate agent job description works well for a newly promoted real estate agent. They may not have much experience within the position, but they demonstrate an ability to learn quickly and succeed by outlining the details of their promotion, as well as an ability to work as part of a team.
