Reception constitutes various simple responsibilities and it is truly difficult to shine by saying what special things you do throughout the day that sets you apart from the rest.
Albeit, you can craft a cover letter that is full of energy and makes the reader feel like that’s the enthusiasm and spirit of the receptionist who should handle their front desk.
You can bet on most people writing the boring activities they do during a regular working day and making a difference there to strike out as a vibrant person.

You probably noted the “Hi” in salutation instead of “Dear”. When you write to apply for a receptionist position, you want to present yourself as friendly and therefore using “Hi” is not a problem.
Although using “Dear” in salutation can never hurt, you are free to use a more friendly tone.

I’m writing to express my interest in the vacancy of Receptionist that was advertised in the Daily News on 16th February. I work at a paper company and would like to transfer my skills and appetite for the print media to working as a Receptionist for the Washington Post.
