Sep 2008 - May 2013
My name is Joseph Zylinski. I graduated from West Virginia University in May 2013. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies. Throughout my work experience and my time at the University I have received high remarks of my work ethic from employers and professors. I strive for greatness and failure is not an option for me. I have interest in becoming a Sales Representative for your company. In five years I see my self as being a success in your company. My goal is to climb the organizational ladder in your company. Also to provide your company with great service, commitment, excellence, and skills.
This writing sample is from the class Communication 405: Effects of Mediated Communication. This class fulfilled my writing requirement to graduate. I received a high grade with positive remarks from my professor from this paper. For this paper I had to analyze the 2008 Presidential Debate between John McCain and President Barack Obama. I had to use my knowledge of nonverbal behaviors to analyze the candidate’s nonverbal behaviors in the debate. I have learned about nonverbal communication throughout my coursework in Communication Studies. My knowledge of nonverbal behavior will help me excel as a sale representative by being able to read and analyze customers wants and needs.
In Communication 303: Business and Profession Communication as students we worked as a consultant for 3 local organizations. All of the Organizations are non-profit. This one in particular was Health Right. Health Right is a community supported free clinic. For this project our consultant team had to remake Health Right’s Brochure to be distributed through out Morgantown. This is the brochure our team made and that will be used by Health Right.
In Communication 303: Business and Profession Communication as students we worked as a consultant for 3 local organizations. All of the Organizations are non-profit. This one in particular was Bonnie’s Bus: Mobile Mammography Program. Bonnie's Bus is a mobile mammography unit that travels across West Virginia, offering breast cancer screening in a comfortable, convenient environment. As consultants we were given a task to get the word out about Bonnie’s Bus. We decided as a team to create a shirt for the patients and staff. We worked with a local Morgantown business call Half Once of Life, LLC. Half Once of Life worked with us and together came up with this shirt. Then as a team we presented to the organization.
