Was hired from a contractor position to work in the tape library. Worked in the tape library for one year and then was hired to work a computer operator.  We were required to mount 10000 tapes per month to keep our jobs.  Finished CBT courses and worked on my own time to train as a computer operator and in one year was hired as an Operator 1. Worked with 2 people per shift to maintain national company computer access to an IBM mainframe system.

Prior to working with computers I owned my own business with two employees and was a professional cook for 20+ years.  For 8 of those years I worked for the Department of Defense and my last job was a shift manager in a dining hall at Travis AB.
