  • Coordinating Smart Growth America’s Spring 2012 Coalition and Lobby Day including scheduling hill meetings and logistics
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and conference calls for GAO team

LOCUS Fellow

Smart Growth America
  • Provide support to members of LOCUS, a national network of real estate developers and investors who advocate for sustainable, walkable development in our towns and cities.
  • Engaged directly with House and Senate offices on smart growth and real estate finance issues, attended hearings during House regarding passage of surface transportation bill, and updated LOCUS members on political and policy developments.
  • Write, edit, build and launch mass email communications at least once a month; maintain and add content to LOCUS website and newsletter. Draft, edit, review and distribute documents including fact sheets, web content, and blog posts.
  • Coordinate, provide research and support team of consultants regarding Smart Growth America's federal real estate finance project.
  • Led all planning efforts for 2012 LOCUS Steering Congressional Lobby Day including content, logistics, marketing, communications, outreach and related tasks. 
  • Play key role in developing and executing work plan for membership recruitment. 
  • Support staff by developing presentations for smart growth conferences and seminars on topics which include land use, the intersection between transportation and land use, and redevelopment policy.
  • Gaining experience with the policy-making process and developing strong organizational and research capability in a demanding work environment.
