Zibusiso Ncube is an energy access expert with 6 years of experience in the energy access sector mainly focused on Renewable energy technologies and related studies as well as Bottom of the pyramid energy markets project development. He has been involved in the different aspects and activities of the Renewable energy sector including, markets, energy finance projects , technology development, capacity building, workshop facilitation and energy project management. He managed baseline studies to benchmark current energy access, demand and use at household level and rural institutional level in Zambia and Zimbabwe for future monitoring and evaluation and project impact measurement as well as project development. He was the Southern Africa Energy Consultant for a research study to provide evidence, analysis and consulted conclusions to underpin DfID messaging and actions on accelerating access to electricity in sub-Saharan Africa via solar household systems which covered Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. He was a team member for the development and testing of a framework, comprehensive and systematic method of assessing energy service markets, including the identification and categorisation of all their component parts under the “Access to Sustainable Energy: Value Chains, Policy Issues and Support Interventions” for EUEIPDF. He was the Energy Research consultant for Promoting energy access through Results-Based Finance within the framework of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM): business models and CDM reform for the World Bank. He has also managed and coordinated several projects and can work excellently in a team setting as well as relate with the different stockholders.

I Worked under the ProBEC project with the responsibilities of,Research and develop sustainable energy utilization projects; Energy management and auditing; Renewable energy project planning and implementation; Testing of Product Performance and dissemination/ strategies of renewable energy products; Collaborate with external stakeholders and Train field officers. 

The project also involved the technical design of locally manufactured cook stoves and modification of imported stoves to suit the local rural community’s needs. The programme also worked with other NGO’s government, environmental agencies and women’s welfare agencies in ISC projects to mitigate environmental impacts and improve the livelihoods of women and children in Zimbabwe.
