As a Lead Delivery Analyst, my role at IBM is to implement and manage the global deliver framework (based on 6 sigma and LEAN Standards) within the organization. My responsibilities include:

  • Business Analysis and Reporting:
    • Assists Unit Leaders in developing tactical and strategic product, services and/or programs to support the business unit’s goals (financial, quality, production, customer service, operational efficiency, etc.).
    • Reviews, analyse, and create detailed documentation of business systems and user needs, including workflow, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs.
    • Consults with subject matter experts to determine business, functional and technical requirements for specified applications
    • Develops effective reporting tools for the business unit. Analyses trends and recommends adjustments address and/or capitalize on trends.
    • Analyses the business unit’s activities and trends and compares analyses against the service standards and best practices.
  • Project Management:
    • Based on Analysis, create project plans for improvement in current business model.
    • Creates and maintains project schedules by developing project plans and specifications, estimating time requirements, establishing deadlines, monitoring milestone completion, tracking all phases of the project product/service lifecycle, providing timely reporting of issues that impact project progress, coordinating actions, and resolving conflicts. This includes documenting, prioritizing and tracking requests (changes, enhancements, etc.)
  • Quality Assurance and Testing:
    • Coordinates groups of business personnel who test, evaluate and validate new functions and applications, and identify issues in software or services.
    • Analyses discrepancies in service or performance and makes recommendations for updates.
  • Leadership and Development:
    • Collaborates with all functional business units to achieve strategic, tactical and project goals.
    • Provides leadership needed to instil a team-oriented, client-driven, results-driven team. Coaches and develops employees.

My role as subject matter expert (SME) in IBM is to oversee and manage the batch management process within the organization. I was also providing project management support for all infrastructure and capital development projects. My responsibilities included:

  • Subject Matter Expert for Tivoli Workload Scheduler on distributed platforms.
  • Creating scripts to automate the repetitive tasks. Analyse the bugs in scripts and try to solve them in timely manner to avoid the impact on production environment.
  • I created the standard batch management process for the IBM and oversee its implementation in IBM for all the clients supported on global level.
