Low cost Wave and Tide Buoy Design

Dr. Robert Harris and I developed a low-cost marine data measurement device that able to collect wave height, period and tide amplitude, phase data simultaneously. By using an internal GNSS module and IMU to collect wave & tide data and using OrcaFlex, AutoCAD and Matlab as mechanical design and analysis platforms, one prototype has been successfully made and some promising results have shown.

It was an internship located in a Gobi desert, Xinjiang, China.
My main duties were helping with the daily inspection of the oilfield equipment (i.e. Hydraulic pumping units) and recording the crude oil production.
I also associated with the personnel to manage the duty list and provided IT support.

I have designed and manufactured a low-cost, compact indoor security device that combined with heat/smoke/infrared detectors based on Intel 89c52 microcomputer. The system has advantages of faster response, higher accuracy, lower price and smaller size compared to similar products on the market.
