Facility Project Manager / Engineer

TransCanada PipeLines Ltd

Project management and design of US facility and retrofit projects, including:

  • ANR reversal balance-of-plant retrofit project: mechanical, civil, and electrical upgrades of all ANR compressor stations to prepare for pipeline reverse flow. Total budget:~ $40 million USD per year(multi-year effort)
  • Excelsior facility upgrade project: install new ultrasonic meter skid, heat exchanger, vertical gas separator, and electrical building. Total budget: $4. 6k million USD
  • Lincoln Farwell pipeline project: install a 36” piping connection between two compressor stations and meter station to allowa new flow path between two pipeline systems. Total budget: $7. 9 million USD
  • Design support for gas transmission facilities including meter stations, compressor stations, gas storage, pipeline, etc.
  • Also responsible for conducting third party engineering company qualification, design specification updates(tanks, filter separator, measurement…), measurement guidebook creation, etc.

Keystone Project Engineer

  • $12 billion dollar 36” oil pipeline across Canada and US
  • Engineering design of Keystone facilities (tank terminal and pump stations) and pipeline: model reviews, HAZOP, specification creation, P&ID and isometrics review, materials definition, etc;
  • Conduct internal studies to recommend technical solutions (tank fire detection system, tank lining material selection, resolve technical RFIs and NCRs);
  • Manage vendor design to ensure equipment complies with project design and quality requirements;
  • Work on procurement, construction and regulatory approvals (NEB, PHMSA, etc.) of Hardisty tank terminal and pump stations for Keystone phase 1 to 2, as well as pipeline design for phase 3 to 4;
  • Field engineer experience with Bechtel construction team to resolve technical issues that impact construction progress and quality, with focus on mechanical design, welding/NDE and hydrotest;
  • Work with commissioning, start-up and operations teams on modifications of installed facilities, and incorporating lessons learns into the design
