Though the jobs above are unrelated to construction management work, the restaurant business exponentially increased my communication and people skills . These occupations trained me to work in a fast paced environment, be innovative on-the-spot, improved my time management, and a great deal about interacting with other people and acknowledging customer satisfaction.

I began working in the construction business for my step-father’s company when I was only 13 and started at the bottom, working my way up. By the time I was 15 I was a full-time operator outside of school, and learned to run many kinds of heavy machinery from dump trucks to bulldozers to backhoes. The summer after my senior year I was only 17 and driving from job to job checking on landscape grades, monitoring and fueling equipment, and teaching other, older employees how to operate machinery and grade dirt.

My mission statement regarding the resume' portion of this portfolio is to use my skills and experiences to run a highly efficient, operable, and safe job site. I would also like to influence more environmentally friendly methods of construction, whether for smaller local jobs, or large commercial jobs. Included on this page are lists of my education and work history, personal interests and accomplishments, and several documents of my work and the work of groups I have been a part of to complete certain projects.

References are available upon request.

I am a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity and have been active since the fall of 2008.

-Held position as social chairman and brotherhood development chair.

-Planned and directed many social activities and gatherings, community service opportunities, and helped our treasurer establish, and maintain budgets for these events.

-I have also recently become the newly elected Vice President of the Alpha-Iota chapter of Kappa Sigma.

The objective of my completion of this portfolio is so that I can have an online version of my resume' available to possible employers at all times. My hope is that they can value not only the work I have put into the page, but also the work I, and groups that I participated in, put into all the documents I have made available for review. This page should be a reflection of the hard work that I am capable of putting forth when given a task to complete.

Major Accomplishments

I was the captain of my high school football team for the latter part of my junior year, until I finished my senior year. This taught me many qualities that make me who I am today. It taught me how to be a role model for others, and to be a positive influence to people around me. I also learned how to stay composed and organized and to help others do the same when in a situation that is not quite in our favor. I'm also very proud of the fact that have been elected VP of my fraternity. I assume this position not only as a leadership role, but as an opportunity to improve my fraternity and those around me.
