Yan has been an experienced architectural design professional. His work has largely focused on multi-family buildings and residential/retail mixed-use projects. By working on all phrases of projects from preliminary design to construction documents, Yan has developed strong design, technical and graphic presentation skills as well as a rigorous work ethic.

Yan enjoys exploring other cultures and meeting people of diverse ethic and cultural backgrounds. He has been learning Spanish for a few years. From 2013 to 2015, Yan was a volunteer teacher at a church-sponsored ESL school in Dallas, USA, helping Hispanic adults build and improve their English skills.

Yan has also been a volunteer architecture walking tour docent in Dallas, leading visitors through the Arts District, introducing and exploring museums, theaters, historic buildings and other landmark buildings.

Born and grew up in Chengdu, China, Yan holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Oklahoma State University, USA. He has recently relocated to his hometown.

Helped Spanish-speaking immigrants from Mexico and other Latin American countries develop and improve English skills.


Project Coordinator

Evaluated and analyzed existing facilities, adapted prototype building to fit performance, code and tenant requirements, and provided construction documents based on field-verifications. Projects included expansions/renovations for Walmart and Sam’s Club.

As part of an integrated project team, primary responsibilities included: preparing preliminary design and graphic illustrations; refining design concept; coordinating engineering systems documents provided by consultants into architectural drawings; producing construction documents and participating in follow-up field observation.
