Business Analyst

Country Court Care Group
  • Having identified compliance as the most imminent risk of project failure, I checked management protocol against Care Quality Commission regulations, so that our accounts were ready for inspection and auditting
  • Excel modelling in order to forecast a budget for a transaction of five care homes
  • Proposing positive changes to the business model in team meetings; for example accounting for (x) agency hours which, following agency cost reduction, would require non-agency workers to fill in for (x) hours - subsequently a comprehensive rota was formed to account for these changes in hours
  • I reviewed assumptions around average fee, occupancy, wage costs and other overheads and liaised with the financial controller to give regular updates and a weekly written report

Intern

Barclays Bank PLC
  • I assessed the financial stability of the business in question fundamentally based on variables such as EBITDA, projected income, and our credit rating, also taking into account the region and industry of the business, in order to approve or reject the proposal
  • I reported to the Head of Healthcare with an appraisal of his team of Relationship Directors and Managers, I then discussed a means of improving the current team ethic - as a result a team event was put in place in the form of a sports fixture aiming to improve teamwork among managers and directors
  • I provided analysis of our customers' eligibility for different services dependant on specific criteria such as the rate of return and the expected timescale on the loan
