Donna Williamson

Summary

I have more than 17 years of commercial architectural experience. My recent projects have been multi-building highrise/lowrise corporate campuses, higrise residential towers, and Microsoft tenant improvements working with a large team of diversely experienced professionals as an Architect I. My past experience has been in multi-building commercial business parks, and free-standing retail buildings as a Project Architect/Project Manager. I was a Project Architect/Manager for 9 years at 3 different firms, working hands-on in every aspect of the project from schematic design through occupancy. My strengths are in my technical skills with a solid knowledge of code compliance, construction detailing, writing specifications and shop drawing review. I’m familiar with a wide variety of structural systems, having worked at 2 architectural and engineering firms for a total of 6 years. Comprehensive skills and an ability to work within many different levels of a project are exceptionally valuable when working with today’s “lean and mean” staffing levels. Efficiency, initiative, flexibility, and a quick learning curve—these are the qualities of an Architect who can help others in specific areas of a project, or manage my own project, and make an immediate contribution.

Project Manager/Project Architect

Gensler
Bank America building projects in Idaho and Oregon. while working on new Bank of America buildings at Gensler, I had the opportunity to work on several projects in Portland and the Boise area. The largest challenge in working on these ‘ground-up’ buildings, had been adaptation dealing with site constraints, existing site conditions, as well as the variation of Planning constraints. I had quite a few presentations to Zoning and Planning Commissions and City Council meetings to obtain Conditional Use Permits and presenting to Design Review Commissions. In my presentations I’ve been successful at overturning recommendations by a staff planner in order to meet objectives for our client.

Vitae
Just like at CRJ, I’m used to integrating full-time production using AutoCAD computer skills to not only manage projects, but to produce projects from start to finish. The previous 9 years, I worked independently, having a time frame of 10-12 weeks to complete a set of construction documents, while managing other projects in various phases. I’m accustomed to managing a heavy flow of projects and maintaining an aggressive schedule, while meeting or exceeding anticipated schedules and budget projections.
