About Me

Hi there, my name is Juliette Retornaz and thank you for visiting my visual CV. In May 2016, I will graduate with my Bachelor’s degree in Child Development from California State University, Chico where I excelled academically, earning a 3.42 GPA. I am looking for an opportunity that will allow me to strengthen my hands-on skills in a classroom setting and gain interactive experience with children of all age groups. Being able to help facilitate children’s development through teaching is one of the reasons why I love working with children. My future goals are to help children grow in a healthy and happy environment as well as ensure that education is available to all children no matter their background.

As my resume shows, I have worked in numerous positions with children ages birth to 18 from all backgrounds. As an adult, the majority of my work experience is with preschool age children, but my employment as a swim coach in 2015 gave me the opportunity to instruct children ages 5-18 in a larger group setting. At Little Discoveries, I was able to further my growth as an infant teacher helping to facilitate healthy learning with children age birth to two years old.

Throughout these experiences, I have gained teamwork skills by working with others, and I have bettered my leadership skills by being in charge of large groups of children. As a teacher, I help facilitate learning in a prepared learning environment that encourages independence and development of the whole child, physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively. I am always looking for new ways to improve myself and to gather more skills and I will approach any team with an upbeat, optimistic attitude, very eager to learn.
