A business background has been instrumental in allowing me to not only direct the activities of my staff for current year projects, but given me the ability to understand how to devise strategies that drive costs and efficiencies to the highest levels.

As an active member of the student body, I used my skills in writing and speaking to engage others to be aware of issues affecting student life. My communications skills were honed in writing stories, capturing events in photojournalism and through the creation of compelling visual advertising.

As the student manager for advertising, I developed a complete strategy for providing customers a standard and guaranteed experience in exchange for their trust and advertising dollars. As a result, advertising revenues more than tripled over any previous period in school history.

Workflow Analysis & Design

I am an expert in the analysis and design of business workflow processing. Whether working with Accounts Payable systems or printing/publishing work flows, getting the work to the next logical step in the most efficient manner is where I make my bread and butter.   Successes in defining work flow solutions engineering have been enjoyed by my customers in Digital Asset Management, Printing systems control, Image Management, Content Management, Customer Relations, Vendor Trade Invoicing Systems, Help Desk Management (including ITIL), Job Queue Management, Video Studio operations, and production control systems.

Project Management

Effective project management means being able to deliver a solution that meets customer expectations and management cost objectives. It is more than just checking steps off on a project plan or Gantt chart. The most important aspect of project management is in how the information gathering is done, and how well the current needs are defined.   The best long term success in project management is found in clearly articulating what you can do and what you cannot do. Managing the expectations of customers, talent responsible for execution and management reporting systems requires a balance of people skills, analytical ability and a willingness to put your foot down to prevent scope creep or other delays.   I am experienced in Project Management tools and software such as Primavera TeamPlay and Microsoft Project.

Talent Management

Whether working with subordinates, peers or supervisors, the ability to appreciate the skills and needs of the people you come into contact with. Effectively managing these relationships opens doors, helps facilitate information gathering, knowledge transfer and ultimately provides the best measure for success in any project.   My retention rate for employees at Cabela's was among the highest for all corporate managers. I regularly received awards and recognition by subordinates and peers plus specific recognition from the company's CEO for my management efforts.

Applescript

Applescript is a human language scripting form developed by Apple Computer. It is highly useful in automating tasks on Macintosh-based computers for workstation maintenance and workflow integration processing.
