Responsible for all aspects of the business reporting directly to the owner. Building podium mixed use projects as the core of the business. I managed and executed project methodologies, turning around three projects that were behind schedule by one year and completing those projects three months ahead of schedule.

In a highly visible leadership role, accomplished the immediate goal of turning around struggling Ventura, Orange and Los Angeles County regions for the Urban Infill division building high density podium and mixed use structures in urban areas.  Responsible for daily operations, including deal structure, entitlement, land development, construction, sales and marketing, and customer satisfaction.

  • Developed and managed business plans, long and short-term business strategies, with revenues in excess of $350 million
  • Oversaw product development, cost control, and development of best practices to maximize operational efficiency in the construction of High Density product
  • Demonstrated talents in developing highly productive and efficient employees by fostering a culture of commitment to corporate mission and goals
  • Cultivated strong business relationships with numerous cities in the region by assisting them in meeting their affordable housing goals in addition to the clean-up of urban blight

KB Home, Irvine, California

Managed business operations by providing leadership, vision, proper operational controls, procedures and systems within the company.  Led the Orange County Division to the company's top performance level and to "The President's Club," the first time in the Divisions fourteen year existence they had achieved this  prestigious honor.

  • Oversaw six departments, including Customer Service, Purchasing, Offsite Land Development, Construction, Daily Unit Processing, and Forward Planning
  • Instrumental in developing a business plan to launch a multi-family unit of the Orange County Division, which was a new medium for the company and formed a new perspective on the business model
  • Key driver in developing and expanding the business to include an Urban Infill product, which was to become a large portion of the business in Orange County

McMullin Homes, Inc., Salt Lake City, Utah

Directed overall operations and management of the company for the owner.  Focus on defining new strategic direction affecting business development, sales and revenue growth..  Served as the company spokesperson with all municipalities on entitlement, land use and development processing needs. Established new internal infrastructure, including business and sales best practices, customer service processes and trend analysis.

  • Improved a tarnished corporate image, increasing volume by 30% and improving profits by 40% in two years
  • Brought company up to #5 Home Builder in Utah in three years
  • Introduced new processes and procedures and instilled a customer-focused environment with a priority on quality and on-time delivery of homes

Established, launched, licensed and operated a start-up single-family home division in a new market.  Involved in all aspects of operations start-up and management, including market assessment, creation of business plan, sales and marketing, land acquisition, entitlement, feasibility studies, cost analysis, product design and staffing

  • Defined and established the company's positioning and identity to maximize business opportunities and position the company as an industry leader
  • Purchased, developed and opened four subdivisions, closing over 250 homes in the first two years and generating in excess of $30 million in revenues
  • Innovator in implementing the use of steel studs in the construction of single family homes in Las Vegas, a critical technique in the area based on the destructive effect heat has on lumber, which substantially reduced waste and repair cost of framing homes
