Consult with and initiate business operations for start-up, emerging, stagnant and distressed nonprofit organizations and local businesses. Services include establishing fully-automated offices to support local and remote infrastructures. Projects include hardware/software and telecommunications selection and installation, networking, website development, design and hosting, as well as business guidance in accounting, legal, human resources, marketing, branding and media & public relations. Via networking, built strategic partnerships and collaborations with numerous small to midsize businesses, not-for-profits and professional organizations to cut costs and increase efficiency and competitiveness by sharing information and resources. Recognized for outstanding results of a two year comprehensive ‘Business Partners Strategic Planning Process’ consulting project for Arizona State University, College of Business. The project goal was to modernize and realign business school programs to address global business needs of the 21st Century. The project was sponsored by the Dean’s Council of 100.

In 1995, Barbara Daniels established the GPL Executive Assistant’s Networking Luncheon, bringing together for the first time the executive assistants and professional administrators to Greater Phoenix Leadership member companies located throughout the Phoenix metro region. This annual event has achieved such success and accolades that prospective new members are now informed of the many benefits of the event during their initial meeting of invitation to join Greater Phoenix Leadership. Today, the annual event, which continues to be hosted by GPL, is attended by more than 100 executive assistants annually and has featured many high-profile speakers, including: The Honorable Barbara McConnell Barrett, The Honorable Betsey Bayless, The Honorable Lisa Graham Keegan, Dr. Carol Kamin, Linda Searfoss, Kristine R. Garrett, Robyn J. DeBell, MS., R.D., Dr. Roy Herberger, Dr. E. Connie Mariano, M.D., and Lisa Atkins. In 2007, Mrs. Daniels formalized the group of administrative professionals, now known as XAIA of Arizona.

Directed all business operations for this highly influential CEO-led organization focused on resolving community issues through engagement and collaboration with NFP and civic organizations, government agencies, and academic institutions comprising over 100 entities, with over 250,000 employees – representing nearly one-third of the state’s Top 100 employers. Active and vocal social advocate with a leadership role in the establishment and growth of various community partnerships, community-wide programs and special projects that provide funding, resources, expertise and mentoring to organizations engaged in serving the common good for a broad-spectrum of Arizona residents. Examples are: Neighborhood Partners Inc., Arizona Partnership for Higher Education & Business, Science Foundation Arizona, Communities in Schools of Arizona, Southern Arizona Leadership Council, P-20 – An Approach to Integrated Learning, Jobs for Valley Youth, Violence Prevention Initiative, Partners for the Future program, and Arizona Business & Education Coalition. Instrumental in the initial fundraising efforts for Science Foundation Arizona (SFAz) resulting in more than $2.5 million in funds raised to support SFAz for the first year, with similar annual commitments for the ensuing four years; further resulting in SFAz’s ability to continue to pursue its mission even in the face of $22.5 million in recent state budget cuts. Foreseeing strategic need to strengthen Arizona’s knowledge workforce, advocated the establishment of Arizona Partnership for Higher Education and Business, and collaborated with private industry, Arizona Board of Regents and the universities to enhance the efficiency of the state’s education system. Results include founding of the Arizona Tri U Master of Engineering program which is expected to fill a critical need for 1000 chief engineers in the state by the year 2012.
