A massive project involving hundreds of people and multiple vendors.   • Lead a team of 2 staff as part of the Airline Systems and Operations team.
  • Gather information on project scope and prepare project work plans. 
  • Analyse project profitability, revenue, margins, costs and utilisation. 
  • Identify resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities to subordinates.
  • Prepare for Work In Progress (WIP) reviews and quality assurance procedures.
  • Ensured project documentation and SOP are complete, current, and stored appropriately.

Key Achievements

  • Involved in a eight month project to migrate AirAsia's airline system from Open Skies to New Skies. Migrating to a new airline system is challenging that requires an individual to have the ability to see the big picture as well as pay attention to detail.  All internal and external vendors had to be engaged to ensure all current airline solutions from airport departure control systems, reservation systems, kiosk and mobile check-in solutions are properly migrated. New Skies successfully cut-over in July 2010.

  • Provided 24/7 system support standby on Flight Speed, departure control systems and payment gateway for all time zone regions worldwide.
  • Gather business requirement requests from departments and facilitate project delivery with internal team members.
  • Gather requirements on each new airport setup and propose the most effective and efficient departure control system solution.
  • Liaise with Navitaire and external vendors to develop enhancements required by the business.

Key Achievements

  • Project Lead to setup 6 new airports for AirAsia - Guangzhou, Haikou, Hangzhou, Hong Kong, Perth and Gold Coast. 
  • Project Lead for Kiosk check-in project with IBM. Project implemented in 2008 and enabled AirAsia’s guests the ability to check-in for domestic and international destinations reducing check-in counter load by 10 percent daily.
  • Proposed a cheaper alternative to the existing Vidtronix bag tag printers by migrating to the SATO CT400 thermal printer. Project implemented in July 2007 and saved AirAsia USD $71,000 in purchasing costs and USD $129,680 in operational costs.
