Empowering diverse communities to effect social change.

The child of two dedicated educators, I began serious musical studies at the late age of 14. Competing with pianists more than 4 times as experienced, I won numerous awards and honors, succeeding through focus, dedication, creativity and sheer force of will. I pursued a rigorous program in Music and Ancient Greek at Northwestern University, graduating with honors in 2006. As a Peace Corps volunteer in Lezha, Albania, I raised over $10,000 to expand technology resources at a local youth center, collaborated with international development organizations to fund and implement community initiatives, and founded the first Women’s Club of Lezha. I have also designed content-based curricula in Albania, led groups of international volunteers in Iceland, taught English in a Southeast Asian community in Chicago, and docented at a local aquarium in Santa Monica. As an administrative intern, I work to promote food systems change and garden-based education in the Bay Area by deepening administrative capacity and promoting organization development through program research and development, including the development of internships and Americorps volunteer programs, grant development and development of funding sources, and using web-based applications, including web-based databases and social networking applications, as well as managing web-based content.
