Attorney Wilson Neely works at the New York City firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. He joined the firm as an Associate and became a Partner in 1991. Throughout his tenure, Neely has been serving the residents of New York City, offering the benefit of his experience in public and private mergers and acquisitions as well as securities transactions. He is the primary outside counsel for The Blackstone Group L.P. and Centerbridge Partners, L.P., both private equity firms with more than $20 billion of capital for investment. Additionally, Wilson Neely belongs to the Finance Committee and serves as the Chairman for the Compensation Committee. In light of his work, Neely has been recognized by Chambers USA as a leading lawyer for private equity buyouts. In addition to his work at the NYC-based firm, Wilson Neely belongs to the Board of Trustees for Historic Hudson Valley, a nonprofit educational institution that owns, restores, and preserves historical landmarks within Hudson Valley, which is primarily comprised of New York suburbs. The organization includes a number of locales, including Kykuit, Sunnyside, Philipsburg Manor, Van Cortlandt Manor, Montgomery Place, and Union Church. Wilson Neely also belongs to the National Foundation for Facial Reconstruction’s Board of Trustees. This foundation supports the medical treatment of individuals in need of facial repairs by funding the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at New York University’s Langone Medical Center. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Trustees at ReadWorks. Wilson Neely earned a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College, graduating cum laude prior to joining the University of Texas School of Law. He graduated with honors and received a Juris Doctor. He currently belongs to the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
