Behavioral Modification System for children between the ages of four and fourteen.             This customized system takes my years of experience in behavioral health addressing issues such as opposition, defiance, and general lack of motivation and establishes a program    that utilizes both chores and rewards. The system is proven to help with poor self-esteem, depression, and anxiety.

In early July of 2013 we launched a youth program designed to meet the spiritual needs of the over 200 children and youth that reside at the multi-cultural apartment complex we relocated to. This income based complex was home to single mothers and their children just months before we became part of the community. We were one of the first" traditional families" that moved into the campus. Shortly after God placed a burden on our hearts we sought permission from the housing manager to hold weekly youth group meetings and we have been doing so since July. A typical meeting includes" Minute to Win It" games, and devotionals with subjects including foundations of faith, and subjects that encourage the teens to consider their purpose.

Refugee Integration Case Manager


Completed eligibility determination and intake screen for both brief intervention, and intensive case management. Performed intakes and assessments on clients according to established programmatic standards. Assessed to determine the barriers to self-sufficiency, integration and client needs. Assessed to determine case management needs such as personal, financial, food, clothing, housing, and health. Empowered clients towards cultural acquisition and comprehension of the new community through an understanding of self, personal situation, and client's responsibility for adjusting to new life in local community(integration). Secures supplementary information in the case file related to client barrier removal such as medical, psychological, and social factors contributing to client's situations. Conducts home visits as needed.

Case Manager


Provided direct services to enable the homeless clients to be successfully reinserted into society, made initial needs assessment to establish goals and a developmental plan with each client. Interviewed clients individually, assessing their situations, capabilities, and problems, to determine what services are required to meet their needs. Developed and reviewed service plans; met weekly for case management with each client and documented on client files in a timely manner. Monitored the ongoing provision of services from community agencies and kept the case management and provider agency current with the progress of the individual. Served as a liaison to community agencies, networked with the community providers and sought out new services to the clients. Researched resident's participation in, and satisfaction with, educational and social programs, client's interest in new programs, and barriers to greater participation. Refereed clients to community resources for services such as job placement, debt counseling, legal aid, housing, medical treatment, or financial assistance, and provide concrete information, such as where to go and how to apply. Counseled clients regarding issues including mental health, poverty, unemployment, substance abuse, physical abuse, rehabilitation, social adjustment, child care or medical care. Motivated homeless clients to achieve economic self-sufficiency soon after arrival. Demonstrated a commitment to empower clients to solve their own problems.

Rehabilitation Technician / Addictions Counselor


I had the privilege of serving on the SARRTP(Substance Abuse Residential Rehabilitation and Treatment Program's) Treatment Team and with the many men and women that serve in our armed forces. Full range of treatment performed included, completion of the initial Integrated Assessment and establishment of the Recovery Plan for Veterans struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. Met with assigned veterans on a regular basis for individual consultation. Conducted groups, individual, as well as family therapeutic counseling sessions. Provided leadership for the therapeutic community groups. Met daily with the other members of the treatment team to review patient progress. In the absence of the Chaplain,     I would facilitate his spirituality group.

Psychology Case Manager


Two days a week I assisted Penn State Hershey's Psychiatry Department. In this role I accompanied the Psychiatry Consultation Team to patients that either presented in the Emergency Department or were admitted to one of the inpatient units. I would facilitate the appropriate level of care, which included; inpatient and outpatient mental health and/or substance abuse treatment. Three days a week I was responsible for assisting the Department of Psychology by serving as the single point of contact for the psychiatrists, house parents, and sponsors(legal guardians); specifically related to the prescription of Psychotropic Medications. Because of possible increased suicidal ideation related to anti-depressants, The FDA requires that students were seen by a Psychiatrist weekly and then every other week for the preceding month. I was responsible for monitoring and scheduling these cases.

Served in the Department of Administration, responsible for the development and administration of a program of intercommunication between the patient and the teaching hospital. Identified system problems and made recommendations for change. Worked closely with Senior Administration, Risk Management, and The Department of Human Resources in the investigation phase of more significant grievances. Encouraged healthcare professionals to humanize a patients' hospital experience through the participation in new employee orientation as well as ongoing training programs.

Scheduled surgeries for the various services within Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Duties included talking with the patients to verify insurance information and coordinating pre and post-surgical appointments. Surgical chart preparation as well as escorting patients to the surgical waiting area. This position provided me with a good knowledge base of the institution.

Crisis counseling; which included prompt and appropriate response to calls. Assessed the client's immediate needs, stabilized the client using crisis intervention techniques. Accompanied police to on-site crisis situations in which I served as the primary person whose goal was to assess and de-escalate persons dealing with suicidal and/or homicidal ideations or threats. Made referrals to appropriate agencies or services. Maintained knowledge of all county drug and alcohol services and facilitated detoxification and rehabilitation admissions when needed. Retained a working relationship with county agencies such as Children and Youth Services and Mental Health/Mental Retardation. Documented the psychosocial assessment, disposition and follow-up telephone contact were also completed.

Access Center Representative / Admissions Counselor


Completed the initial comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, which determined the level of care needed. The clinical information that was gathered from this assessment was then reviewed with the psychiatrist who determined the admission diagnosis and treatment plan. Secondary duties included responding to behavioral emergencies and crisis telephone calls. Assisted the Director of Customer Service in the Department of Administration during this time.
