After 10 years working for Hilton Hotels and 2 years working with HVS International I decided to focus my skillset on marketing for the food and beverage world by creating Drink Deck Destination Guides. After almost 5 years and 50,000 copies produced, I recently sold my print & digital media concept to the team at City Dining Cards. My career experience has given me the opportunity to work in both a team atmosphere and as an individual, allowing me to demonstrate a track record of both high personal and team performance.

Drink Deck, the bar enthusiast's travel & discount guide, is a curated small batch print and digital media product that created ad revenue through venue partner advertising and revenue from consumer purchase on e-commerce, iPhone, Android and in brick & mortar stores. Instead of a book or just a web site I created a keepsake deck of playing cards that features 52 hand selected bar/restaurant venues with each card providing a special offer when "played" by a patron at a participating location. Below are some of the key objectives met:

  • Turned an "idea" into a "concept" that exists in four of the best travel destinations in the US & UK.
  • Optimized our web site and e-commerce platform to increase traffic by 25% with the introduction of a new video, web site re-design and Google Ad Words campaigns.
  • Used HTML coding, email marketing, blogs and social media platforms to keep in touch with our customers and grow our reach while tracking campaign success through the use of Google Analytics. 
  • Increased distribution of physical product to over 100 retail outlets and venue partner locations across all destinations.
  • Increased digital and print media revenue growth through planning of events, affiliate partnerships, digital media campaigns and press contacts across all destinations.
  • Managed web site development, smart phone application architecture and graphic design.
  • Developed and executed a business and marketing plan and forecast revenues that increased sales from $50,000 in the first year to $250,000 in the third year - created great ROI!
  • Worked with media and public relations agencies in all Drink Deck destinations while managing organic and paid SEM in order to increase web site traffic and convert sales.
  • Managed all aspects of social media and web based marketing including: YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, Pinterest, Google+, YELP and web site management at
  • Analyzed and polled Drink Deck audience (70% female, average age 20-35) in order to increase effectiveness of social media, email and ad words campaigns across all destinations.
  • Facilitated venue partner trainings to ensure the success of the redemption; making it easier for consumers to use our product.

Team Work
Even as the sole proprietor of my own business, I've constantly had to use team work to accomplish objectives. From production of the product to working with my team of sales people to planning our annual marketing budget with my agency, team work has always played an important role.
I have a minor degree in Spanish from Purdue University and studied Spanish from secondary school through college. I have an advanced understanding of the language. 
Meeting Sales Goals
From my time working in convention sales for Hilton Hotels through my experience running Drink Deck LLC meeting sales goals has always been crucial. At Hilton I won numerous awards for sales achievement including Hilton's Circle of Excellence for top sales production worldwide. A great testament to my sales ability is getting buy in from business owners to pay to advertise their venues, and making repeat customers out of those contacts. 
I have been studying Italian for 2 years and living in Italy for 8 months. 
Writing Skills
From proposal development for Hilton, to web site content management for Drink Deck, to blogging at my ability to communicate through writing has been consistently called upon and praised by those on my team.

Developing web sites, managing content, creating videos and using technology has taken Drink Deck to the next level by capturing new customers and engaging our audience. 
Online Marketing
Having developed my own marketing business that sells direct to consumers, this skill is very well honed. From understanding pay per click advertising to deal of the day platforms to algorithmic based models for online ad placement, I've got plenty of experience. Additionally my understanding of social media and ability to grow a following through social media interaction has been a great attribute to my success.
