The objective of this Visual CV is to display my talents, aptitudes, experience, and capabilities to potential employers.
My passion is to write fiction and poetry. Beyond my creative writing, I play guitar and make my own songs. I also play chess semi-competitively-- I played in many official tournaments during grade school and high school. During my sophomore and senior years, I attended Nationals in Tennessee and Minneapolis, respectively. I enjoy playing football and basketball as well. I am pledging the Beta Theta Pi fraternity on campus, as well. I love debate, philosophy, and music to immense degrees.
As an Apprentice in ITAP, I have taken two rotations in Audio Recording and Web Authoring.
I am currently in the Training Methods rotation. I have discussed various learning styles, educational reasoning, and teaching approaches. I have designed presentations that show the educational purposes of various software, such as Spotify, Tumblr, and Pixlr. My final project will consist of a hands-on lesson about Pixlr and its functions.
My final rotation is Multimedia, and I have yet to delve into content.
My worked at Staples consisted of stock upkeep, customer assistance, and cashiering. My personal skills, multitasking, and work ethic improved considerably during my time at Staples, especially considering this experience was my first job.
Through my high school's internship program, I became a Nuvo-intern. Working primarily in the music department, I helped some of the employees post articles online, using simple HTML. As is an intern's wont, I completed odd jobs throughout the process. I wrote some miscellaneous posts for the actual paper, but I primarily wrote album reviews for the website. This experience was great because my reviews were published on the website under my name. Even though the articles weren't extremely important to Nuvo, the experience offered me a great deal of insight into the world of print and digital journalism.
The first five entries display the articles I wrote during my time at Nuvo.
Varsity Football Captain, Basketball (Ritter for two years, then club for the other two years), Captain of the Chess Team, Student Newspaper, National Honors Society, A Promise to Keep, Student Mentor, Alternative Spring Break (senior spring break was spent in New Orleans to help build homes for displaced Hurricane Katrina victims), Senator Lugar's Symposium for Tomorrow's Leaders, Guitar Club President, Student Ambassadors, Speech Team, Theatre Production, Campus Ministry.
