I have been learning and understanding building practices for 45 years. Although I will be 52 in May of 2009; I can recall holding lumber for my dad when I was 7 years old. Using hand and power tools when I was 10 years old. Working in electrical panel boxes when I was 13 years old. Remodeling apartments when I was 16 years old. During most of my highschool years; when my school friends were roaming the streets; I was working with my dad. It seemed hard on me at the time. Now that I reflect back; they learned how to play; I learned a skill; and foundation of work ethics that would remain with me for the rest of my life.
I believe a project done right the first time, (no matter the obsticles) will endure longer, ultimately cost less, and remain structually sound.
