Being employed by Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd is such a huge improvement to me. Working on infrastructure work especially MRT Line 2 Project had really taught me the real quantity surveyor's scope of work. Differ from my previous work experience, my responsibility during working at Contract and Commercial Department is more to preparing quotation comparison.

  • Prepared a  comparison analysis for quotation submitted by sub-contractor.
  • Assisted senior quantity surveying in meeting with sub-contractor during the tender clarification interview.
  • Draft letter of award and compiled contract documents for signature.
  • Prepared the documents required to award the selected sub-contractor.
  • Take-off quantity for each construction's elements from the drawing provided.
  • Controlled in and out correspondence email received from the client or consultant.

I was accepted to be a part of Petrogaz Engineering Sdn Bhd's staff which the company is one of the expertise in construction industry. I was very honored working with the team in this company as they were very helpful and motivated in working time. During my employment period with Petrogaz, I had given tasks by my employer to help our Quantity Surveyor to carried out the works in the office or at construction site. These includes:

  • Take off quantities of all elements involved in the project.
  • Prepare Bill of Quantity and other documents related to the project.
  • Responsible for managing all project costs from pitch to completion. 
  • Prepared and submit the monthly claim.
  • Monitoring the cost of site resources, inspecting and then valuing completed.
  • Controlled product's supply and make sure the material for the construction is reached at the site on time.
  • Attending meetings and liaising with clients and design teams on commercial matters.
  • Advising the client on buidability and cost/time certainty.
  • Advising the client on environmental friendly resources with reasonable price.

TECHNICAL

I found that I developed my technical skills during my days in university where I learnt how to do taking-off quantity and preparing cost estimation to achieved client's cost budget. I am now able to use CAD Measure, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point and Microsoft Project to produce report or any related documents. In addition, I developed my skills in produce bench-marking by using BCIS.

WRITING

As Malay is my first language, I am able to write in Malay very well and can produce a good report if I work in Malaysia. I can speak and write well in both languages English and Malay

COMMUNICATION

Excellent communication skills, developed through experience when I worked as Assistant Quantity Surveyor. Communication skill is not only speaking well. It is includes listening, speaking and understanding. I believes that I have strong communication skills where in my past experience, I able to communicate with client and project team and attending meeting. I developed my skills in answering questions and rephrasing what the person says to ensure I am understanding very well.
