Responsibilities included maintaining technical control of live or taped television programs and assisting television directors nationwide.Prepared white balance, tone and iris levels.Controlled robotic cameras and switchboard during live television broadcasts.

The Teaching Company produces The Great Courses: a series of educational video and audio courses led by the world’s top professors and experts in fields such as philosophy, history, literature, science, and the arts.

The Producer is responsible for planning, managing, and executing these courses on time and within budget and in a variety formats (e.g. DVD, audio CD, and audio/video downloads). Responsibilities include maintaining overall quality and creative appeal of the product and coordination of all aspects of pre-production, studio recording, and post-production to achieve the most effective product possible, while managing strict deadlines.

Pre-production duties involve working closely with award-winning professors.Preparing and reviewing educational material for production and studio delivery and also training and coaching of on-camera talent.Responsibilities also include research and preparation of HD quality images/photography, stock footage, animations, and graphics for live-to-tape video, planning and preparation of equipment for in-studio demonstrations, and preparation of field shoots as they relate to the course material.Studio responsibilities include overseeing recording sessions to ensure quality and cohesiveness of each lecture.

Post-Production involves executing editorial decisions such as graphic design and formatting that meets TV and broadcast standards, use Apple’s Final Cut Pro (FCP) to edit 24 to 48 30-minute lectures within the course, communicate with a production team of graphic artists, editors, audio technicians, and intellectual property coordinators to create a final product.
