Sample Memorandum

This is a memorandum that I wrote for my supervising attorney at the Torrance branch of the Los Angeles Public Defender’s Office. The topic of the memorandum was to briefly determine the laws related to a particular client’s status and analyze how the client’s registering requirements changed depending on his potential residency in California or Washington.

Sample Superior Court Motion

This is a copy of a motion that I researched and authored while at the Norwalk branch of the Los Angeles Public Defender's Office. For this motion, I was instructed to research potential issues with probable cause in the case and write a motion to quash a search warrant based on lack of probable cause.

Sample Appellate Court Brief

This is a portion of my final appellate brief for the second semester of my first year legal writing course. For this assignment, I was instructed to write a brief supporting the court’s granting of the appellee’s previous motion for summary judgment on the appellant’s claim for public disclosure of private facts.
