Mr. Vargas joined the Sherwin-Williams Company management training program in 1984. Upon completion, he accepted an assignment to a high profile / low-performing store where he immediately hit sales and profitability targets. His success led to several promotions ultimately as Commercial Branch Manager which specializes in large state and local government contracts, commercial and home builder opportunities, architectural specifications, and the profesional trade. Mr. Vargas had full P&L and sales management responsibilities. He quickly developed skills in inventory management and controls, and helped identify the source of a 2.5% inventory shrink. His success led to the appointment to the CEO Strategic committee tasked with developing short and long term strategic plans.
