University of Alabama
I am currently a Senior at The University of Alabama pursuing a degree in Food and Nutrition with the goal of becoming a Registered Dietitian. Teaching others how to fuel their bodies successfully in order to achieve a healthy body weight or better results as an athlete is my passion. I seek a position that will utilize my unique qualities and skills in an exciting opportunity where growth and continued education is a priority.
When I am not studying, I operate my own piano studio, where I have students from the ages of four to sixty-five. Working with a wide range of age-groups and learning styles has helped me develop the ability to meet people on an individual basis and build trusting relationship with each student. I love working with people one-on-one and helping them learn more about themselves and ultimately teach them how to reach their goals.
As I reach my goal of a degree in Food and Nutrition, I seek a dietetics internship that will allow me to gain the knowledge of practices and procedures essential to becoming a successful Registered Dietician.
When I am not teaching or studying, I love to hike, fish, hunt and camp with my husband of 12 years, Jeff, and our two energetic Border Collies, Maddie and Sasha. I tend my own organic garden, where I harvest potatoes, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, onions, beets, Swiss chard, lettuce, peppers, herbs and cucumbers. What I do not pass on to the neighbors I put up in canning jars for the winter ahead. Cooking, reading and long distance running are some of my favorite things to do!
