A board member of Bluewater Books & Charts since 2000, Vivien Godfrey helped set a positive strategic direction for the leading provider of nautical charts and software for leisure mariners. In tandem with this position, Vivien Godfrey serves as a board member of Far Horizons, LLC, a company she and her husband formed after negotiating the acquisition of a marine business in 2000. Through the family owned and operated enterprise, they sell Superyachts on a global basis.
Vivien Godfrey developed a love of books, maps, and charts early in life. Both her father and grandfather spent their careers with Edward Stanford Group Limited, a well-known UK retailer and publisher of maps and travel books. In 2005, Mrs. Godfrey helped to turn around the financially struggling business while chairing the board of directors. Utilizing her extensive background in marketing and branding, she helped map out new strategies to bring the business back to a positive financial status.
Vivien Godfrey earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in geography from St. Anne’s College, University of Oxford in Great Britain. She then completed an MBA program in business and marketing at INSEAD, an internationally recognized business school in Fontainebleau, France. Mrs. Godfrey serves on numerous boards and organizations, including the U.S. Advisory Council for INSEAD. She actively supports the PACE Center for Girls in Florida and the United Kingdom’s Help for Heroes. She chaired the board of Pillsbury Neighborhood Services in Minnesota while a vice president with The Pillsbury Company and Pillsbury International earlier in her career.
