Promoted from deputy chief after one year to lead department. Serve as senior executive accountable for planning and management of a $7.3M budget. Oversee day-to-day operations, internal affairs and risk mitigation. Implement training and professional development. Lead patrol, detective, and central services divisions. Liaise between department, other agencies and community groups. Ensure compliance with government requirements, policies and procedures. Protect and preserve physical assets. Develop and design innovative policing and safety programs.

  • Conceived and implemented first armed security elementary school district in Northern NJ, winning widespread accolades from parents, schools and other community influences.
  • Implemented Junior and Senior Police Academy, Bicycle Safety, Drinking and Driving, and Gang Awareness and Prevention programs.
  • Lobbied for and won passage of law allowing use of Tasers in NJ (was first chief in the State of NJ to actually be hit with a Taser for a demonstration!).
  • Led department to be first in the state to implement the Ti Training - Firearms Training Simulator as part of annual firearms qualifications.
