Head of Digital Literacy, Voice & Innovation

Epping Forest College - EFC

Responsible for the strategic, tactical, and operational management of Epping Forest College’s Digital Literacy, Voice, and Innovation service. 

  • Strategic
    - Led EFC technology area review & 2020 Digital Strategy;
    - Planned transformation of the LRC into micro-environments (100% of learners could find the space to meet their learning needs compared to 27% previously);
    - Library footfall increase by 40%, & loans by 264% in 1yr;
    - 97% of users were satisfied with our services (June 17).
  • Raised Learner Voice:
    - Survey responses increased by 267% in 1yr;
    - Managed events & competitions recognised as best practice in the UK;
    - Student DVX programme – achieved national recognition & 3 Student DVXs awarded for inspiring others;
    - Contributed to broadening EFC social media reach with 1st rank for FE in Jan 17 on Edurank.
  • Successful curriculum change:
    - Holistic centralisation of student data on eTrackr - 100% of courses set up & 100% students progress reviews published;
    - Project management: Cross-organisation deployment of Planet eStream Multimedia Library & CloudBase;

Head of eLearning & Innovation

Epping Forest College - EFC

To lead the College’s Blended Learning and ILT strategy and communicate the vision for change through innovative teaching and learning processes.

  • Led a successful MoLeNET £140,000 bid and project managed the 3 institutions' consortium MoLeNET project (180 participants). Recognised Best Practice by Essex County Council (June 2010);
  • Launched innovative student eMentoring Scheme. (Awarded National 2010 MoLeNET Learner Support Award);
  • LSE plaque awarded to EFC for innovative use of technologies (July 2010);
  • VLE usage increased by 400% in 19 months;
  • Successful curriculum change thanks to the effective deployment of eTrackr. A direct impact its adoption is an improved retention to 93.7% (4% above national average) & success rates at 88% (5% above national average) in 2012-2013;
