Throughout his career as a human resources executive, Victor Melendez has utilized his skills and expertise to reduce employee complaints and unemployment claims, improve complaint resolution times, and increase employee retention rates. Victor Melendez successfully consolidated one national company’s benefits plan, saving nearly $1.2 million, and negotiated reduced vendor rates, which lowered costs by $1.4 million. With an analytical mind and a desire to succeed, Victor Melendez quickly assesses challenges and develops creative and viable courses of action. Among other achievements, Victor Melendez developed an international recruitment program and renegotiated temporary employee agreements, saving $1.4 million. As the owner and operator of International Consulting Associates in the Phoenix area, he hired more than 3,000 workers for the Resolution Trust Corporation. At Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California, where he served as Vice President of Human Resources, Victor Melendez increased the recruitment of registered nurses by 72 percent and overall recruitment by 63 percent. Victor Melendez currently serves as Senior Human Resources Business Partner at AltaMed Health Services Corporation in Los Angeles. In this role, he holds responsibility for nearly 2,000 employees in 50 locations. Victor Melendez oversees labor and employee relations, as well as employee satisfaction, surveys, complaint resolution, recruitment, and training as needed. As such, he has increased employee satisfaction and improved the complaint resolution process. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Victor Melendez graduated from the University of Phoenix in Sierra Vista, Arizona, with a Bachelor of Arts in Business. He also completed a Master of Arts in Human Relations and Organizational Behavior at the institution. Victor Melendez holds membership in the Society for Human Resource Management. When not engaged in professional endeavors, Victor Melendez supports the March of Dimes, which works to eliminate birth defects and premature births.
