As a merchandising, sales, and marketing professional Vicky Travlos has worked both in the mainstream media industry and in the public sector. She began her career as a graduate of the political science program at New York's Hofstra University, where she completed a legislative aid internship with New York State assemblywoman Chloe Ann O'Neil. After receiving her bachelor of arts in the spring of 1997, Vicky Travlos remained with the New York State legislature as public affairs support for assemblyman Marc Herbst.
In the spring of 1999, Vicky Travlos transitioned into the private sector as an administrative assistant for Calvin Klein design company. She served the company for a year before accepting a position as an advertising sales professional for BusinessWeek Magazine, a McGraw-Hill company. Her success in developing advertising leads and preparing direct contact efforts earned Ms. Travlos a promotion to television operations manager in 2001.
Subsequently, she was appointed to a sales development associate position. In this capacity, Vicky Travlos created a new premium promotion catalogue as well as a comprehensive re-branding strategy. She then advanced to a role as customer solutions and merchandising associate. In this position she created and expanded numerous multi-department promotional efforts. Ms. Travlos balanced these responsibilities with professional development at the Learning Tree Management Institute, where she studied creative problem solving and critical thinking.
