    Technical Advisor

    I work as a Technical Advisor for the application life cycle team and support products of Microsoft that version controls code, builds code, tests the output, package and releases them for consumption and helps developers collaborate. I help software development teams on implementing software development methodologies.
    My core responsibilities include 

    • Representing Microsoft and communicate with enterprise customers regarding technically complex escalated problems identified, and manage relationships with those customers. Frequently, these problems also politically charged situations requiring the highest level of customer handling skills.
    • Leading triage meetings to share knowledge with other engineers and developing customer solutions efficiently and assisting with selection of new team members
    • Acting as a technical lead, mentor, and role model in a team of engineers; providing direction to others; reviewing solutions; developing and delivering technical training.
    • Receiving escalated, technically complex mission critical or politically hot customer issues, and maintaining ownership of issue until resolved completely
    • Using trace analysis, source code, and other sophisticated debugging tools to analyze problems
    • Developing solutions to meet customer needs and writing complex technical articles 
    • Acting as key technical interface to Quick Fix Engineering (QFE) and Development for the resolution of high impact or pervasive issues effecting Microsoft's corporate client
    • Analyzing operational data periodically, finding patterns and using it to suggest data driven changes to both product evolution and customer experience

        Technical Support Engineer

        I solved complex technical problems faced by Microsoft Enterprise customers when using Microsoft ALM tools and also partnered with them to pro-actively prevent new issues. I also gained experience in various technologies like Microsoft Windows Internals, System Center, Microsoft Business Intelligence Suite, IIS web hosting. I was judged the Best Performer of my team for my work and tremendous results in 2013.

        Software Development Intern

        During this internship I worked on Java based frameworks like Google Web Toolkit and SmartGWT.
        My area of focus was on developing intuitive front-end for web applications.


        • Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO – VSSC, Trivandrum) under Mrs. Bindhu Thomas and Mr. Aneesh K Thampi
          • Developed a system for real time data monitoring of MIL 1553 bus that is omnipresent on board all avionics systems; displaying flight data acquired every 20ms to all the monitoring terminals with health care and other vital signals of the projectile in form of graphs and charts. The project synopsis can be found here
          • Technology used: RTOS QNX, C++.  
        • “SMS based FAQ retrieval” - IBM Remote Mentoring under Mr. L Venkata Subramaniam
          • Designed an interface for FAQ retrieval and response when a client SMS-es a question using Natural Language Processing (NLP), noise reduction and pattern matching.
          • The approach my team suggested was selected and we presented the first run results at FIRE’11 – IIT B (data retrieval conference sponsored by IBM, Microsoft Research and Google).
          • Technology used: Java, SQL and XML file format.
        • Website for Online Treasure Hunt – Empuzzled (DAKSH ’11 SASTRA University)
          • Designed a website for an online treasure hunt event where the users had to decipher answer from a set of hidden clues in web page to move to the next level. A copy of it is hosted here.
          • Technology used: PHP, JavaScript (client side) and hosted on Apache.
        • Mobile applications
          • Splice: This app provides group chat feature for all java supported phones (default feature present even in very basic phones) via SMS. Has feature of creating groups, chat history and privacy. It was launched in both FLYPP and Nokia store, reaching almost 5000+ mobiles around the world. 
          • SmartRemind: An android app that will help user to store group reminders that will alert both the user and the list of numbers the user has selected. At the time of reminding SMS or Email will be sent to all the numbers, silently without user intervention using OAuth 2.0. 

        Community Work and Extra Ciricular

        • Created the official website for Vani Educational Academy – NGO  that helps differently-able students and orphans.
        • Regular blood donor and active participant in Microsoft Giving campaign.
        • Was the Chairman of Student Nokia Developer Forum at SASTRA University
        • Was Chief Editor of Cypher - Department Magazine and newsletter
        • Was a member of the Finance Team and helped organize Colosseum, Sports event and KurukSastra , national level cultural event.
