Text Section

2014-James Rumsey Committee for the Vizzi Awards. Worked and Coordinated with team to bring together the Vizzi Awards. Judged entries.

2012-Present - BB/BS of Washington Cty Maryland, Inc. - work with Elementary School children by serving as companion, friend and role model to children, primarily from single-parent homes.

2007-Present  - Volunteer with United Way and Children in Need campaigns in Hagerstown MD.

La Niche Boutique LLC

Created brand, wrote and executed business plan and launched retail brick and mortar shop in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Created and launched online e-commerce store and all marketing materials for store. Responsible for all digital and printed marketing pieces for newsprint and online marketing. Currently working with Google Adwords to launch online ads.

Graphics Director

Hub Labels Inc
  • Responsible for maintaining and scheduling the graphics department, digital press room, and digital plate room for busy 24/7 flexographic printing facility.
  • Coordinate and execute monthly G7 fingerprints for all press platforms. Maintain color accuracy within a Delta E setting of 5 or below.
  • Working closely with VP of Marketing and Sales to create a new marketing strategy which demonstrates to our customers the promise of excellence in service and on-time delivery of quality products. 
  • Experienced with yearly Hoshin initiatives related to company goals and strategic plans to increase profitability. Required to implement initiatives throughout the year to maintain Hoshin goals put in place.
  • Created special department to create additional revenue for the graphics department. "Creative Services". Responsible for pricing modules and estimating time needed to discuss, prepare and engage in creative work with customers requesting design services.
  • Initiated Project L.I.F.E team to maintain 2 year certifications on a yearly basis with new and innovative ways to help the environment while being profitable.

Digital Manager

Corporate Color/CDX
  • Maintained monthly budgetary numbers for digital print studio.
  • Created work flow to maintain OTD (on-time delivery) to all customers.
  • Responsible for profit margins and pricing for each product in the department.
  • Involved with Direct mail campaigns where I designed and created custom variable data mailing lists based on population and area data. Created mailing data base to run through variable data machines.
  • Maintained all customer relations with follow up phone calls on our service and quality of products.
  • Implemented new green technology by researching and purchasing one of the areas first low VOC solvent ink printers for new venture into outdoor printed products such as car wraps, banners, billboards and signage.

Art Director

Robert Feldman and Associates
  • Formulated concepts and coordinated with all freelance artists to provide design layouts, and other media artwork to meet critical deadlines.
  • Review and discussed client requirements and printing schedules for all projects going to print.
  • Trained individuals on illustration techniques for job required and prepared illustrations such as site maps, direct mail, and interactive screen marketing tools and web pages.
  • Created and maintained structural digital filing systems, project billing, and archival systems.

Departmental Senior Graphics Designer

Osborne Publications
  • Responsible for weekly 4CP glossy magazine cover designs for THE HOMEBUYER'S JOURNALS and The Business Opportunities Guide for Virginia and Mid-Atlantic Areas.
  • Collaborated and met with advertising agencies and clients on customer layouts, billing, and prepping for future magazine layouts.
  • Coordinated weekly with all press inspections for final print approval of all Magazine Glossy Covers.

Art Director

MSD - Maryland Sign Design
  • Coordinated designing and fabrication schedules for projects including, sales center displays, trade show displays, and various corporate image packages.
  • Researched and developed design center furniture pieces that required in-house fabrication. Supervised in-house fabrication once designs were approved by area advertising agencies or regional builders.
  • Responsible for creating, implementing and maintaining digital archival infrastructure.

Assistant Pre-Press Manager

Comprint - Washington Post Company
  • Daily project management for weekly GAZETTE Magazine editorials and pagination.
  • Coordinating and meeting critical newspaper deadlines.
  • Responsible for the printing and coordination of Washington Post Special Addition insert printings for every weekend edition, and the printing of military newspapers such as The Naval Academy "Trident".
  • Daily management of equipment and inventory for night shift

Production Artist

Osborne Publications
  • Worked on weekly ads for weekly and monthly published real estate magazines THE HOMEBUYER'S JOURNAL
  • Responsible for enhancing real estate agent advertisements by designing page layouts, scanning images and in some cases creating type for each listing.
  • Developed and managed ad pick up and meeting times for each agent and their specific needs.
  • Collaborated with Manager to create paginated files for weekly outsourcing to Fry Printing.
