Born in Trench Town, Kingston, Jamaica, JAHBENG spent his childhood years in this impoverished western Kingston ghetto that was made famous by the legendary Bob Marley & the Wailers. In this environment, the harsh realities of ghetto life were ejected by the Rasta peoples’ vibration and relentlessly rocked by their thunderous songs of freedom JAHBENG tuned in to the sounds of the likes of The Wailers, Culture, Burning Spear, the Mighty Congos and countless others. He found the rhythm of his soul and the path to his destiny and in his early youth he began a spiritual odyssey inspired by the teachings of RASTAFARI.

As a result of his spiritual quests, JAHBENG’s conscience lights the way to his musical expressions, some of which are captured in two highly acclaimed albums for which he is credited. His debut CD, Cry for the Children and his sophomore album entitled River of Healing, are amongst the best works in the genre of Roots Reggae. In addition, he is an exceptional live performer, who has headlined numerous shows and been invited to share venues with many Reggae superstars and legends including Anthony B., Turbulence,  Warrior King, theAbyssinians, Maxi Priest and Luciano. The depth of JAHBENG's works and his great passion for his art are unquestionable. He has joined forces with 5Rivers Entertainment inc., as he continues his journey to learn and grow spiritually and musically in the hope of making contributions to ensure that the universal messages of JUSTICE, PEACE, LOVE, and UNITY, for all, are heard, heeded and shared.
