Reporting directly to the Head of HR (and dotted line to Operations Director), responsible for:

  • Overseeing the HR function across 8 office locations in London and the Home Counties. The region employees 3200 employees.
  • Ensuring HR Managers recruit, interview and screen candidates in line with industry standards.
  • Directing and leading General Managers across office locations with Tupe transfers, redundancy and restructuring programmes.
  • Interviewing management and executive-level candidates; conducting candidate psychometric tests and running assessment days.
  • Assisting legal consultants with ensuring accurate paperwork is available and submitted for defending employment tribunal cases.
  • Providing advice on employment law matters to General Managers, HR Managers and National Accounts team.
  • Conducting a continuing study of all Human Resources policies, programs, and practices to keep management informed of new developments.
  • Directing the preparation and maintenance of monthly and periodic reports of team as are necessary to carry out the functions of the department. Preparing monthly periodic reports for the Board, as necessary, to track strategic goal accomplishment.
  • As part of the senior management team in the Company, responsible for writing and implementing new and revised policies and processes into the business.
  • Participating in executive, management, and company staff meetings and chairing quarterly HR regional meetings and seminars.
  • As part of the senior management team, responsible for a various long term strategic projects from inception to completion. Main projects managed by myself include:
  • o Automated Recruitment line - entered a contract with outsourced company to implement automated recruitment telephone system across each of the Company's 26 UK office locations each with a separate telephone script and telephone line.
  • o Immigration Regulations - overhauled the Company's immigration policy, wrote training guides, policy and procedural documents in line with new UK Home Office Immigration laws that took effect in February 2008. Carried out training sessions across the UK on new laws to educate HR teams.
  • o Implementation of E-Recruitment Solution (an investment of £150,000.00). First project ever in the Company to be implemented across 4 separate operating companies under the Reliance Group umbrella. Managed and co-ordinated internal and external project teams. Coordinated activities of external media advertising company to revamp careers pages of company website. Ensured the strategic objectives of the Directors were met at an operational level and within budget.
  • o Recruitment Function - overhauled the recruitment function as separate project falling under the umbrella e-recruitment project. Implemented the first ever generic recruitment manual to be used across 4 separate operating companies to ensure consistency of recruitment across the Group. Overhauled all procedures and recruitment documents.
  • o Local Employment Partnership - Agreement signed up by Company as a result of government initiative led by UK Prime Minister to get the unemployed back into work. Working with external unemployment offices to ensure company meeting objectives in line with agreement. Assisting with external recruitment days at unemployment offices. Participate in various PR functions arranged by Government Ministers to present on successes of program in Company.
  • Working with Directors on talent mapping and succession planning across all levels of employees from site based to senior management.
  • Monitoring Employee Equity and Diversity to ensure policies adhered to.
  • Lead on restructuring programs carried out in the London Region to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Running the HR and payroll function across 6 manufacturing sites in the UK.
  • Overseeing and managing the HR Managers in completing year end payroll reports for each site and collating information for the Inland Revenue.

  • Providing support at various intervals (both on site and remotely) to various factories in North America at the request of the Global Project Manager.
