    Initiated, researched, designed, and implemented human subject study of English child acquisition of verb tense and inversion in wh-questions; won the Denman Award for Speech & Hearing Sciences. Study was continued after the conclusion of the summer program and developed into a senior thesis. A team of researchers continued the project after Valissa's graduation from OSU, and the results of the ongoing study have been published in numerous research journals. 

    Over the course of 10 weeks, developed and executed literary-based research on the yeísmo and zeísmo phenomena in phonology of Argentinean Spanish. Presented research findings to a Big 10 conference at Purdue University and to the Ohio State University graduate research council.
