Board Certified Physician Informaticist ~ Certified Physician Executive, EPIC CERTIFIED BUILDER

CREDIBLE CLINICIAN & VISIBLE PHYSICIAN LEADER

I am a board certified clinical informaticist and Epic certified builder with twelve years of progressive EHR leadership experience.  My passion is EHR usability. I recently served as the Medical Director for Ambulatory Clinical Informatics at MultiCare Health Systems and was the Chief Medical Information Officer at Kadlec Health Systems for their Epic implementation.

I possess a strong background in clinical informatics, medical administration and practice redesign and have a demonstrated ability to lead large and diverse teams toward a common goal. My clinical background, leadership experience, project management strengths and EHR expertise make me an excellent candidate.

Board Certified Physician Informaticist & Epic Certified Physician Builder

Board certified in Clinical Informatics, I am an experienced physician leader in this new frontier that combines people, process and technology.  I became an expert in the area of information technology early on as I was able to understand how thoughtful application of technology can support excellence in clinical care while making good financial sense.  I appreciate the value of EHRs from the perspective of the patient, the clinician and the organization.  I also respect the barriers to their use and their limitations.

As Medical Director for Ambulatory Clinical Informatics at MultiCare Health Systems, I dedicated my time to the thoughtful optimization of health information technologies with the goal of usability.  Previously, I served as the Chief Medical Information Officer and Inpatient Physician Lead during a rapid 18 month "big bang" go live of the Epic Electronic Medical Record.  Implementation included inpatient, ambulatory, emergency and community applications.  As Director of Medical Informatics for Sutter Independent Physicians, I led the selection, design and deployment of their electronic Integrated Medical Record using Centricity.  Prior to this experience, I became an EHR superuser for both Practice Partner and Centricity practice management and electronic health records using EHRs in my private practice since inception.  As a superuser, I contracted my skills to other independent physician offices to assist them in better utilizing their EHRs.

I thrive on the constant learning that is inherent in keeping ahead in the rapidly changing field of healthcare technology.

Certified Physician Executive

Also boarded in Family Medicine, I possess a strong clinical background and exceptional bedside manner and have ranked consistently as a leader in clinical quality and patient satisfaction measures.  With excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with physicians, physician assistants, nurses, students and ancillary practitioners, I have a taught clinical teams at all levels.  I have worked with hundreds of physicians and understand the varied drivers of physician engagement.  I also have the experience and savvy to work with C-suite, executive level management.

My management experience includes twelve years of directly supervising increasing numbers of employees from varied backgrounds, cultures and educational levels in both public and private practices.  My private practice was recognized as one of the best places to work as voted by its employees.  I have extensive experience leading teams of highly technical EHR analysts and independently practicing physicians.

I have served as lead spokesperson for critical projects and have extensive experience in marketing and publicity.  I bring exceptional project management skills.  Highly organized, I am able to simultaneously work on diverse projects with differing goals, timelines and players.
