Function Space, inc

Function Space is a collaborative learning network for students and researchers. My role included developing content in math, physics and engineering courses.


1. Project SFAAS: Prototyping a Smart Fetal ECG Acquisition and Analysis System (SFAAS) to monitor the health of the fetus and provide its diagnostics. This was achieved using NI LabVIEW programming and  deploying it on NI myRIO FPGA platform. Qualified for the finals of NASA Tech Briefs Design the Future Contest, 2015.

2. Project Nest: Development of an IoT based home automation system using facial expressions. This was achieved using  Haar Cascade Detection in OpenCV to extract the features and finally deployed on BeagleBone Black to control the lighting and cooling inside a room.

3. IntelloFan: Designing an intelligent fan using ultrasonic sensors and Maximum Length Sequence (MLS) diffusers installed on TI MSP430 microcontroller which automatically regulates the fan's intensity depending on the location of the occupant in the room.

4. Project Safar: Developing a low cost safety solution for fire breakouts in trains by using thermopiles and NI LabVIEW to automate water sprinklers, disengage the affected compartment and contact the nearest station for help.

    The International Society of Automation (ISA) is a leading non-profit organization that sets the standards for automation globally. My role includes taking initiatives in bridging the gap between academia and industry along with creating awareness regarding ISA standards and protocols.
  • Founder and President, BMSCE Pentagram, March 2013 – Present
    Pentagram– the Mathematics Society of BMSCE was founded to inculcate and promote higher mathematics among the students and give them a platform to share their knowledge.

    Led a team of 250+ active IEEE members, taking initiatives in bringing engineering closer to the students by the means of workshops and colloquiums in varied disciplines to help them nurture their passion for technology.
