Work experience

Apr 2009Jun 2011

Dr May joined OCH as an employee so my duties as reception stayed the same as in I was responsible for maintaining the daily schedule, pulling and prepping charts and taking care of confirmation calls.  My transcription duties changed to only transcribing the dialysis notes.

Primrose Nephrology

Dr. May left Ferrell-Duncan Clinic and opened his private practice and I went with him and worked as the office manager/reception as well as transcriptionist.  I managed the corporation's business accounts; maintained patient records for billing purposes; handled all aspects of Dr. May's credentialing from keeping license information current, malpractice insurance, CMEs. I also continued to take care of all of the dialysis requirements.

My duties as reception and transcription stayed the same as above.

Ferrell Duncan Clinic

I worked as Dr. Robert May's receptionist and transcriptionist for his Nephrology practice.

My reception duties included pulling and prepping all patient charts for clinic as well as contacting patients for appointments and reporting test results.  I also took on the role as personal assistant to Dr. May as I  coordinated his personal schedule with his work schedule.

Dr. May's Nephrology practice included a dialysis unit. I maintained patient records and was responsible for updating informating for billing purposes and assisted in the preparation and qualification process needed for kidney/pancreas transplantation.  I maintained all documents required for UNOS and the various transplant facilities.

I was responsible for transcribing all office visits and any dictation pertinent to patient care including letters.  I also transcribed all monthly capitation visits for his dialysis patients.

While I was employed with Ferrell-Duncan Clinic, I recieved my HIPAA certification and was responsible for my department's HIPAA compliance.

I received employee of the year.
