A Master's degree-qualified Anthropologist, my thesis specialised on the cultural heritage and identity of two South Island iwi groups, including the impact of Te Tiriti, examination of Waitangi Tribunal claims and extensive study of the Resource Management Act, the Historic Places Act and the Protected Objects Act regarding Māori taonga tūturu and wāhi tapu.Because of this, I am looking for a position in which I interact with both Māori and non-Māori in order to expand my knowledge and raise public awareness of Indigenous culture in New Zealand.
