I have worked at Brigham Young University – Idaho for 19 years in various areas of Information Technology.I believe my talents and skills have contributed greatly to the advancement of technology on campus and in furthering the mission of the university.I served for about three years as the Director of the Server Management department. In 2006, changes in the IT division resulted in the formation of a new department combining the departments of Server Management, Telecommunications, and Network Engineering into one organization - -the Department of IT Infrastructure.I was asked to serve as the director of the new department. As a result, in part, of my influence and involvement we have been able to provide more students with better technology and enhance their learning environment.
I have been involved with many projects, large and small, as a technical peer, product evaluator, and project manager. In addition to learning about and implementing the networking, wireless, servers, and storage various technologies, I have enjoyed building relationships with vendors.
I constantly look for opportunities to expand my knowledge and understanding.I enjoy digging into products and technologies to better understand what makes them tick.I also enjoy sharing that knowledge and feel that I am able to explain technology in an easy-to-understand fashion. Working here at BYU-Idaho has provided many opportunities for all of this, including the chance to teach a few college courses.
I believe that my leadership skills come naturally and have been developed and refined through service in many leadership positions, both professionally and in the community.I have served as the lead on many projects, supervised student and full-time employees and chaired many committees.
