National Director of Career Services

TSG Consulting

Director -level consultant responsible for the strategic and tactical management of Career Services  Offices nationally.  100% travel to campuses in need to revamp, restructure and/or re-staff the Career Services Departments. Successfully achieving an 80-96% job placement rate and further responsibilities include:

  • Managing highly crucial areas of operations specifically related to graduate employment, strategic partnerships, budgeting and career services marketing
  • Direct and indirect supervision of Career Services Directors, Advisors, and Student Staff at campuses in a myriad of regions with program disciplines including bachelors level Nursing, Technical Trades, entry level Healthcare, Criminal Justice and Massage Therapy
  • Hiring, training, and disciplining staff. Conducting performance reviews and creating annual staff development goals

Managing a thriving Career Development office while overseeing the day to day operations of direct Career Counseling, Employer Relations and on-campus Student Employment for an 8,000+ student base at a major metropolitan university with a multimillion dollar budget. Duties include:

  •  Creating and managing strategic processes for all on campus student based employment
  •  Managing teams, staff and task forces
  • Restructuring budgets to successfully serve 40% more students on 20% less funding than previous years
  •  Managing Corporate/University Relationships with the country’s most desirable employers

Metropolitan Board of the Chicago Urban League

Served as the Leader of one of the nation's oldest Young Professional Association serving the best interests of citizens in the Greater Chicagoland area. In one year under my leadership, the organization served over 3800 volunteer hours in the community. Previous organization appointments include Development Chair (2011-2012), and Membership Committee (2010-2011). Accomplishments included:

  • Awarded Central region Chapter of the Year by the National Urban League Young Professionals (NULYP) for 2012-2013
  • Increased membership by 35% in one fiscal year
  • Improved the organization's net worth by 175% through strategic corporate partnerships and development opportunities
  • Presiding over the monthly Executive Committee and General Body meetings

  • Overseeing the Student Organizations Corporate Relations Team and hosting and participating in employer visits and phone calls

Dual responsibilities overseeing the Career Services and Alumni Relations departments for 5 campuses in the Pennsylvania Metro, fostering an unprecedented and staggering growth of alumni participation at the campus and maintaining a graduate employment rate of 92% with an average salary of over $52,000. Further responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, proposing and managing three department budgets as well as designing, developing and implementing an annual strategic career services and alumni plan for the state
  • Hiring, training, and disciplining staff. Conducting performance reviews and creating annual staff goals
  • Developing, maintaining and cultivating relationships with employers, chambers of commerce and professional organizations across the state

Successfully succeeded a job placement rate of 97% while maintaining an Academic Counseling caseload of 60 students as an innovative and integral department head under the Student Services umbrella.

  • Maintained databases for tracking student placement and contacts and provided monthly reports on placement statistics
  • Maintained electronic and physical Job Boards and conducted job searches and increased employer database
  • Created and facilitated workshops on resume writing, appropriate business attire, interview skills, employment etiquette and career counseling
