Serving the Oceanside, Carlsbad, and Vista, California, communities for more than half a century, Tri-City Medical Center is a comprehensive acute care hospital with 500 physicians in 60 specialties, nearly 400 beds, and two advanced clinical institutes. Tri-City Medical Center maintains Joint Commission Gold Seal accreditation and is administered by the Tri-City Healthcare District. North San Diego County facilities extend beyond the Oceanside hospital to include the Tri-City Wellness Center and the Laser and Aesthetic Center in Carlsbad. Since it was established in 2010, the Tri-City Medical Center Cardiovascular Health Institute has brought a new standard of heart care to the region it serves. The Institute’s multidisciplinary team has expertise in interventional radiology, vascular and cardiothoracic surgery, and invasive and non-invasive cardiology treatments. With the motto “we treat people, not disease,” the Access Center offers a streamlined registration, education, and care coordination process. The Center was ranked fifth on the 2012 Becker's Hospital Review list of U.S. hospitals with the lowest heart attack patient 30-day readmission rates. Tri-City Medical Center’s Orthopaedic & Spine Institute combines integrated care with personal service and emphasizes alternatives to surgery for patients with joint and back pain. Experienced staff members offer a host of non-surgical approaches, including physical therapy, weight loss, and aquatic therapy. In cases where pain is significant and chronic, the Center’s neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons offer minimally invasive spine and joint procedures. Specialists also regularly perform total knee, hip, and shoulder joint replacements and spinal procedures, including fusion and laminectomy. Reflecting a continued commitment to quality care at all levels, Tri-City Medical Center CEO Larry B. Anderson was recognized by the San Diego Business Journal in 2011 for Excellence in Hospital Administration and Leadership.
