Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District
  • Coordinate the administration of all aspects of the state-mandated and federally mandated student assessment programs including STAAR 3-8 and End-of Course, TELPAS, TAKS, field testing/mandatory sampling, and NAEP for the third largest district in Texas.
  • Coordinate the administration of college based assessment programs including district wide ACT and ACT Aspire.
  • Work with Information Services to obtain student data files, check accuracy of data files, and upload data files into the state contractor’s system to ensure creation of pre-coded answer documents and/or labels.
  • Train district and campus staff on guidelines and procedures required by the Texas Education Agency to implement the state assessment program including maintaining  the security and integrity of the state assessment program.
  • Support the efforts of general education, special education, and bilingual/ESL education curriculum departments in the education of district and campus staff on the value and decision-making processes for all state assessment programs.
  • Establish, implement, and oversee procedures for distribution and collection of assessment materials as required.
  • Instruct, maintain, supervise, and document the security and integrity of the state assessment program.
  • Investigate, document, and report procedural and serious irregularities in the implementation of all state assessment procedures to the Texas Education Agency.
  • Uphold district data integrity by monitoring the administration of the state assessment program, overseeing the completion and return of all appropriate documentation, and completing student record changes to maintain current records.
  • Assist campuses in verifying the accuracy of student information data on state assessments and make corrections to student information in the state data base. 
  • Create a district wide system to track STAAR End of Course substitutions, credits and Individual Graduation committee decisions.
