Desert High School

I enjoy spending time with my family having picnics in the mountains, bicycling, reading, playing football with my son, photography, and traveling.

I am looking to secure a challenging, growth oriented leadership position in an established or growing company that allows me to use my skills and experience to make an immediate contribution as I grow both personally and professionally.

I've worked retail sales for over 25 years with 10+ years in management. During that time with the various companies I've worked for I learned many ways to provide exceptional customer service and still drive sales and operational excellence. I've taken under-performing stores and turned them around by identifying issues, developing appropriate action plans, building strong teams and providing the proper training, coaching and setting clear expectations then holding the associates accountable.

Visual merchandising

Whether following planograms or being creative to fill an end cap I understand the importance of visual merchandising and the impact it can have on sales. Product must be available for customers to see and it must be priced correctly.

Maintaining a profitable Profit & Loss statement

By analyzing the daily/weekly sales and operations reports and developing action plans to improve opportunity areas immediately I ensure the store's profitability at month's end. This is also achieved by ensuring store expenses and payroll are managed daily.

Sales floor leadership

Ensuring all customers are receiving the proper care by being an engaged floor leader. I match up customers with the best sales associates to meet their needs and provide exceptional customer service. I also follow up during the sale to build confidence for both the sales associate and the customer, and after the sale to provide a personal touch and a "thank you" to the customer. For the sales associates I provide any necessary feedback to help them perform better.
