Lead developer responsible for software development and support of the Filter Products department at Celanese Acetate plant in Narrows, VA. Asked by management to head up a major automation initiative after numerous failed attempts by outside services firms. Responsible for the entire lifecycle of the project. The assignment involved replacing outdated shop floor control systems with a Microsoft centric application and database platform solution in a 24x7 manufacturing environment.

§ Design and development of the SQL Server databases, including programming triggers and stored procedures, data migration from HP-1000, HP-3000, and Unix servers, replication and maintenance (MS-SQL 7.0/2000, T-SQL, DTS, SQL Profiler, Reporting Services).
§ Developed Windows services to communicate between PLCs and database (VB6, VB.net, C#, MS-SQL 7.0/2000, T-SQL, OPC, Modicon, Allen-Bradley).
§ Programmed Win sockets to provide a data driven web environment (VB6, MS-SQL 7.0/2000, T-SQL).
§ Developed barcode label/ticket applications (VB6/VB.net, RJS, Printronix, Zebra) to automate processes.
§ Programmed hand-held RFID scanner to support warehouse personnel (C, Perl, Percon, Symbol, PSC).
