Senior fixed income professional with more than 15 years of experience in commercial real estate and structured finance with a proven track record of out-performance. Invested across a broad spectrum of real estate investments (whole loans, B-notes, REITs) and structured products (CMBS, CRE CDOs, ABS CDOs, TRUPS), and up and down the capital structure from AAAs to equity tranches to interest only strips (IOs). Most recently Tony was a Vice President in the Fixed Income group at MFS Investment Management, a Boston based money manager with $200 billion in assets under management. While at MFS, he was the back-up portfolio manager and senior CMBS analyst on a $10.4 billion actively-managed structured products portfolio. Before joining MFS, Tony spent seven years at John Hancock Financial Services, where he played an active role on both the buy-side and sell-side. While at Hancock he led a team that managed a $1+ billion mezzanine and high-yield real estate debt portfolio. He also priced, structured and hedged more than 220 loans totaling $2.2 billion in 16 different CMBS deals including the TOP, IQ and HQ shelves. Prior to joining John Hancock in 1997, Tony spent six years with F.W. Dodge, a subsidiary of McGraw-Hill, where he was responsible for managing a group of economists that provided econometric forecasts and analysis of commercial real estate supply and demand for the nations top 58 MSAs for institutional investors. Tony is a graduate of the University of Portsmouth in the UK with a BA with Honors in Economics and Geography and has a MA in Geography from Boston University. He completed the coursework for a PhD in Geography at Boston University with a focus on urban and regional planning. He is a Charted Financial Analyst (CFA). He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences including the CMSA's Annual Convention. He has published articles and research in CMSA World, Mortgage Banking and the Journal of Real Estate Research.
